currently my ph is 7.95 lights off and averages 8.7 at the end of the light cycle . I want to add a co2 scrubber but i fear the ph increase may jump to high to quickly . Is there a way to slowly increase ph

If your numbers are right would get CO2 scrubber. It won’t let you pH drop to 7.95.

Before I installed one, my pH was 7.95 to 8.2. Now pH consistently 8.3 to 8.4. Recycle CO2 scrubber through protein skimmer and minimize the media.

did raising it quickly affect the corals in your tank ?

Thats a wide range. What test kit are you using to check Ph ?
What is tank temperature ?

Yes - raised it immediately and corals loved it. SPS has best polyp extension I’ve ever had.
