Hello,

Trying to raise salinity with topoff. Just trying to guestimate how many gallons of 35 ppt topoff is required. So in general if i added one gallon of 35 ppt water to a 35 gallon aquarium as topoff, can I expect the aquarium to increase in salinity by 1 ppt?

Thanks,

James

What's your current salinity? You could accomplish this with a water change.

Adding 1% of the volume will increase the salinity 1% (when evaporated back to the same volume).

So if you are at 35 ppt, and add 10% of 35 ppt water over a few days, the salinity rises by 3.5 ppt.
