Raking Sand

Is it ok to rake your sand and stir up the algae on the top of the sand bead?

Raking will only bring the algae back in a couple of days.

My guess your Nitrates and or Phosphates are high due to overfeeding your fish

I hope it won't hurt too much I really went at that sand water is like a cloudy mess and some lps is spitting slime. My nitrates are good as well as my phosphates.

What do you mean by slime ?

Like slimy spider webs coming off a hammer, frog spawn and tourch. I put my bubble scrubber on to help clear up the sand storm.

Its already starting to clear up a bit got 2 mp40s and a 1450gph pump running and 2 filter socks.

Let a clean up crew do the sand raking for you. Nass snails, cucumbers, worms, sandbed clams, etc. Much better way to keep the sandbed clean and white.
