been i while over a year and I forgot what model of Ranco controller I need.

I want to control two 300W heaters one ehiem and the other BRS titanium.
I forgot if I need the 2 stage or just the single with Y?

I *think* I can use the single as both heaters will be under the total amp. I am correct here?

i'll prob. go with the ETC 111000-000 over the more robust unit as I will be in my dry controller area of the sump.

If you want the heaters to come on at different temperature settings, then you need the 2-stage. Otherwise a single stage can easily handle two 300W heaters with a splitter.

thanks guys. I hate it when I learn something then life happens and months later i have to learn it all over again. haha

single stage it is then. I'll order it up. been wanting one of these for a decade.
i'll use an apex as a 3rd layer of protection.

The ETC 111000-000 is plenty robust. I have two of them on my Display tank

may I ask why 2 units?

Redundancy

Primary heater (2 100 watt units) set to 78°F with 1°F differential

Secondary heater (1 200 watt heater) set to 78°F with 2° differential. Secondary heater will not come on until the temp drops to 76°F.

Each unit is wired to a different electrical circuit.

The normally open contacts are rated at 15 amps (resistive) so your 600 watts will be well under that.

It is crazy how much they have gone up in price I paid $46.99 in 2020 for my first one and now they are $91.80 both from Supply House.
