after 10+ years of wanting to get on of this bad boys I am do it.
just got a cpl questions for folks that have can them.

1. how much of the temp sensor did you shrink wrap? i know any part that might get wet but how much extra did you do?

2. any clever ways to mount the sensor to the sump wall? would love an aquarium safe magnet to keep it in place.

3. where in the sump do/did you have the temp sensor?

4. has anyone added a 2nd relay to the ETC 111000 making it a two stage unit? long shot I know just covering all bases with this thought. :)

5. any thing else you wish you know when wiring up these units?

I would recommend the 141000 model as it is NEMA4 rated like the aqualogic controller.

Will let others weigh in on the questions.

what is the NEMA4 rating?
i'll look into that model.

edit: "The Ranco ETC-141000 is identical to the Ranco ETC-111000 except that this unit is rated NEMA 4X. NEMA 4X means it is water and corrosion resistant and is suitable for outdoor installations or other locations where it may get wet or be subject to high humidity."

good call. I dont plan on my electrinics to get wet or humid but yes this would be best one to use. to bad the apex in not rated NEMA 4 that;s why i like the hydros...but like fusion IU more.

I made a titanium thermo well for mine. Then shrinktube up about 12 inches. The picture does not show the last piece if shrink tube that covers the top of the titanium. I used rod and drilled it out if I was to do another one I would use tubing. I also would have shortened the shrink tubing so it was just to the top of the sump.

My controllers are on the opposite side of the wall and hard wired to outlets. I have a primary one and a secondary on a separate circuit. The red outlets are controlled by the Rancos I use probe mounts from @cromag27 to hold the sensors in my sump.

nice set up!
I was just looking at Matt ( octo aquatics ) site to see what he has. i think I have an unused nano cleaning magnet around too. might start off with that then replace after a year or so.
