Hi everyone, I have a Randall's Goby that I have in a 20G quarantine tank. I have had him going on 3 weeks.
The first 2 weeks he was looking and acting fine. He was eating shrimp, flakes and pellets and seemed happy.
The last few days I have not have been able to get him to eat and he has something going on with his fins.
Seems mostly where the fins touch the substrate when he resting on the bottom. When I try to feed him he swims
around like he is interested, but he does not eat. Do Randall's eat pods? I placed a small piece of live rock in the
quarantine tank when I started it up and it had a good population of pods when I put the Goby in there but now I have noticed
they are all gone. I have substrate in the quarantine tank because I had some live stock that required it before i added
the Goby so I had left it in there. I my tested my water and it tested good besides my nitrates being around 20. I am going
to do some water changes in the next few days to bring that down. It does look like fungus, just a bit blotchy and worn
a little. I think I am going to have to treat him with something, but I am not sure what medication I should use. I have
heard gobys are pretty delicate when it come to treating them, so I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions.
You can see the blotches on the bottom of his fins..they seem a bit worn as well.
Thanks!
Mike
