So my sandbed is kind of nasty despite low nutrients I was wondering how would a sand sifting goby like the orange spotted would do with my existing Randall's goby?

Ill tell you what, i recently put 1 diamond goby in my tank and he tore up my sand bed!! I have a fine sand thats white and now its ALWAYS like that. He does a amazing job.

Hes got orange spots all over him.

Just wonder how he would treat my Randall's goby. Does that one build a borrow?

He absolutely did for a while under multiple rocks, it was fun. My kids would wake up each moring looking for its new home. That lasted for a few months and now he doesnt do that but i think its because i have fine sand and his home doesnt last more than a day, lol.

I can be wrong but i think i heard you should not add more than one goby unless you add at the same time. Someone else needs to answer to confirm.

Sand sifters and watchman gobies coexist just fine. While both groups of fish spend the majority of the time on the bottom, but occupy different roles. They are dine together.

I would be cautious adding a second bottom dwelling goby. I have a Gold Headed sleeper, Firefish, and a Pink spot but they were all added within a week of each other

I don't think I'm going to chance it I like my little Randall's. Which he stays at his hidy hole all day in and out with his snapping shrimp but it isn't worth it to me to chance. Because once he's in there's no gettin him out

It's up to you but there isn't any risk between these 2 fish. Neither are aggressive toward fish outside of their generas.

The two people that advised against it, one of them had them together without issue, the other wasn't sure about what he was saying, but said it anyway(btw the info was incorrect).

Quite frankly, it doesn't matter to me what you decide, but to have wrong information factoring in to the decision doesn't seem all that great.

It would be one thing if I said "NO, do not do this" But I said something, said I wasn't sure, and asked him to verify it. Whats wrong with having a conversation? So you have never had a conversation and said "Ya know, i'm just not sure, ask someone else". Sometimes the best answer is "I don't know".

If I hadn't already been engaged in this conversation I wouldn't have responded but he asked me a direct question. So I wasn't one of the people who advised against it, I clearly said that someone else needed to respond to confirm or argue against it.

I'm done with this thread, I won't put up with people calling me out for trying to help someone. "But said it anyway" give me a break.

Relax dudes it's just a 4" fish nothing to get upset about. I appreciate both opinions and appreciate your input. Don't get upset its not worth it. This is little stuff.[emoji6]
