Hi guys looking to find some info on what may have happened here. I had originally added a small rainbow BTA to my tank. It was very happy since day one. A little while back I added a second larger one. At some point they both split. The larger one looks amazing and is now two large nems. The smaller one had been somewhat shrunk up since it split. The small one and it's clone just have not looked happy. The other day I noticed I couldn't find one of them. Today I came home and the one small one I do see does not look well at all. It almost looks inside out. The odd thing is the two large ones look great.

I just don't understand how the others are fine while it would seem the smaller two have perished.

Params are all in check. Corals look great. Tank has been up over a year

The small was added in March and has looked great until just recently. Larger was added in july
Thanks in advance

Since I assume some will ask

Salinity 35ppt
Temp 78.5 on average
Alk 8.5. Stable. Does daily for .5dkh uptake
Calcium 425. Dose weekly for 25 ppm uptake
Mag 1450
Nitrate around 10
Phosphate. 07

I did have an imbalance or higher nitrate and 0 phosphate which led to some cyano

I have dealt with the cyano by bringing up po4 and lowering n03 while dosing bacteria and bubble scrubbing at night

So you run carbon? Some varieties dont play nice with each other.

Not consistently. Should fire up my reactor again. Far as I know they are both rainbows. The large was sold as a rose but looks like a rainbow to me. The little guy looks somewhat better but still not really extended. His clone still hasn't been seen in a few days.

I'll give the carbon a shot. Thanks

My limited experience is that if they start to wither they are going to disappear.

As someone noted earlier these creatures seem to carry pests or release warfare chemicals that impact other anemones. I'd remove the weak one to another system without nems and hope it recovers.

The ones that are thriving "won."
