so i just got my geo 618...set it all up, but I need to do a lot of reading before I actually tune it in with the cO2 and everything. anyways...i was wondering even though the media's in the chamber...can i turn on all the pumps to make sure theres no leaks on the whole system...or will the effluent water not be good for the tank even though there's no co2 on???

I just wanna get this thing going! LOL

You can run it without Co2 to check for leaks but won't benefit your tank until there is Co2. Make sure you put a check valve on the Co2 line. Also make sure that there are no Co2 leaks.

there is a check valve on the co2 line...how would I check for co2 leaks? and thanks! just wanted to make sure nothing bad was going to happen. LOL

all the joints before the calcium reactor? like from tank to guages...guages to hose...hose to reactor?

it's so scary that if something bad happens everything can die!!! ahhh

Don't be too scared! I was the same way and then I got a geo 618 like you and I will never go back. I do have mine hooked to a reef keeper though. That would be a must for me.

You want to check from the Tank to the where it connects to the reactor. If you do it right you won't kill everything. It's just a lot of fine tuning that you have to do to make it perfect for the levels your tank needs. But pays off in the long run.
