Okay so I am not one to purchase corals off “designer name” alone personally if a coral sticks out to me and I am gonna enjoy looking at it every single day then it’s the right coral for me! I have a bunch of Zoas that I’ll post in another forum for Zoas. But from time to time I do start to wonder some of the designer names these corals have, long story short I want to know the fancy names lol

i mean if you want designer names, you could just make them up yourself.
1. RC (RegalCinema ) Ultra Favites
2. RC Blue Raven Blastos
3. RC Super Ultra Master Favites
4. RC Insane Ultra Pectinia?

i jest, but thats honestly what retailers do for designer names. I dont know if your corals actually have a name, ill let someone else chime in

1 - none that I know of (but looks similar to raptors peace)
2 - looks like it might be blue raven blasto merlotti
3 - with the right filters or phoshop maybe a yellow submarine
4 - none that i know of

Some of them like the candy cane there you may see vendors put names on, but they usually dont really get excepted for your common pieces. I mean some vendors name every single chop shop coral they deal in(but the same exact piece on their next shipment is a different name)..... I dont know how they have not ran out of names yet.

1st & 3rd looks like some sort of merulinid, probably a favites
2nd is a blastomussa
4th is probably a caulastrea, but it could also be an astraeosmilia.

Yea I honestly just wanted a name to kinda jump start some ideas because then I can search and see the coral in other peoples tank and kind pluck some ideas from them and put my spin on it. But the RC idea I kinda like where your going with it lol

Yea that’s what I noticed I see some online that look similar but not quite the same to what I have so I figured I’d ask some people who have more knowledge than myself to find some footing. And yea some of the names get kinda comical they are creative tho I’ll give the vendors that!
