Hi Guys

would buy a Random flow Generator? what are your thoughts on them

Only reason I sold mine was because it ended up breaking the surface more than I wanted and ended up spraying my mesh cover with water. They also sucked in air at the level I had them.

My returns only have 2 pieces of loc line so to break syphon i needed to have them parallel with water line otherwise to much water would syphon into sump.

I also noticed that the amount of flow i had coming from my gyres ended up washing away the random flow patterns.

Return pump is pushing 350gph l, gyres are at 90%.

I’ve had the VCA dual nozzles on my Reefer XL 425 since day 1, so I don’t really have anything to compare them to. But I’m really happy with them and the corals are thriving so I have no complaints. I just cleaned them yesterday after 16 months of continuous use:

I have 6 of them on all returns and they really swirl the water nicely

I run a pair on my closed loop (which mitigates any disadvantages) and have been very happy with how well they work. They do require a pump that can handle a bit of back pressure.

I like mine, but the high flow in my tank from the powerheads makes them pretty much unnoticeable. Bad purchace? No. Did I really need it and would buy again for my situation? No.

I know I'm really late to this thread, but wow! - that''s an awesome pic. Do you mid if I use it?

And, thanks everyone for all the positive feedback on the RFG nozzles. We try and produce the best possible product we can and have it deliver what we promise.

Feel free to use the photos!

I just suggested a pico reefer contact you. Since you're here...any plans on making anything for pico tanks? There seems to be a gap in traditional equipment for flow.

Yes, this thread is pretty good free advertisement @Vivid Creative Aquatics :)

I need to pick up two of these and see how they work out for my tank.
