Randy's build thread in BHM

That's sick. Looks like you're right down the road from me, I want to come see this when it's done. All this plumbing confuses me. I don't need it for my current set up, but we're looking at building in the next few years and I hope to have something like this in the new house.

Yeah I haven't met anyone here. I believe Mark is the guy who took PAR readings in my tank. From what I've seen here the BARF group doesn't seem to meet often... but what do I know. I live downtown next to workplay. What part of town you in?

Thank you. I wanted to introduce myself to the BARF group. The only two people that I really know from here are AJ and Mark.

Thank you. Your more than welcome to come by. It is really nice to get things laid out you want them.

Know it well! Haven't encountered too many others from around here... although quite a few from bama. Love your setup! I hope to be switching to a 120'ish sometime soon. What was once a dining area and never used had slowly become The Tank area which will house my upgrade quite nicely. I've outgrown my 60g cube faster than planned. Thankfully I've purchased hardware with an upgrade in mind.

Wanted to add a picture of the RO/DI unit. All of the parts other than the bracket are from bulkreefsupply. I wanted the booster pump to be plumbed inline with the unit.

I've been looking at a booster pump also. What was your water pressure before/after?

When I was in Huntsville the before was 45 psi. When we moved to the apartment it was 55 psi. I have not checked the before here but the output is 82 in all three places.

The output of the booster pump is adjustable. I have read that 80 is the magic number so I tried to make that the output. You could probably turn the pump up to over 100 psi, but I have not turned it past 82.

I just checked here the before water pressure is 48

Yeah that's about what I get here as well. What kinda booster pump are you using?

Cool cool. My wife and I just bought a house on Patton Chapel down past where it turns into Chapel road in Bluff park. I'm still in the process of moving the tank, but things are going well so far. Everything is either in holding bins or still in the apartment at the moment. When it is over I will have to get you over to pick up some frags!

That is really cool. I think we live really close to each other. We are next to Quinn Elementary school and Simmons Middle school

Just to give an update. I have gotten the nitrates to around 15 by doing several 70 gallon water changes. I have gone through a total of 6 boxes of reef crystals.
