Hey Randy,
I've been using your improved DIY 2 part recipe along with recipe #1, part 3A for magnesium. I have my master and slave dosing pumps coming in tomorrow and I've decided that the Mg is something that I'd rather have on a daily or eod schedule. I've only dosed it once in the past and I just dumped the 2.5 cups in throughout a span of 24 hours. I'm shooting for consistency as my Alk and Ca are locked in. At the end of my 1 gallon jugs, when it was time to dose Mg, I had a reading of 1290 ppm. I'd like to keep her at a steady 1340-1360 ppm. 2.5 cups is roughly 590 ml, with that being said what would you recommend as a generous starting daily dose? It would be alot easier had I monitored how long it took to use those 1 gallon jugs but I dropped the ball on that one! Tank parameters are as follows:
160g SPS Reef
79 degrees
1.026
Ph - 8.2
No3 - 3ppm
Po4 - 0.04
Cal - 430 ppm
Alk - 10.6 dk/h
I know various other supplements can contain some pretty shifty chemicals but I paid careful attention to avoid level altering chemicals. If you see a red flag let me know. Here's what I dose:
CaCl2 (50 ml daily)
Na2Co3 (20 ml daily)
Red Sea Coral Colors A,B, and C
AcroPower amino's
Nh4No3 (2 ml daily)
Korallen-Zucht Trace Element Complex
Thanks for any input!!
