Randy's Two Part method, can I use separately?

Hi Randy,

I have a question. I'm thinking to use your two part method. My calcium is about 350 while KH is already 11. I want to raise my calcium alone to 440, and I don't want to raise my alkalinity over 11. Is it ok to use your Ca part alone to achieve my preferred level of calcium? Once I started seeing my KH dropping, I want to start using the alkalinity part.

Yes. BRS two part is my recipe, they just sell the ingredients. So does Dr F&S.

Originally, it was designed with baking soda, Dowflake, MAG Flake, and Epsom salt. MAG flake and Dowflake have become hard to fine:

Recent "improvements" use sodium hydroxide in place of sodium bicarbonate or carbonate for a higher pH boost to the alk part:
