Rare coral on Ebay

Please tell me this is a joke......

No. He has 2 others up for sale, owns a pet store and has 100% +ve feedback! He claims they grow in his tank!

"The peice has grown excellent for me over the past 2 years with many other branches. The peice is 7 inches in length and can be transplanted into any reef aquarium where it looks spectacular. The peice is tan and cream in color. The coral can only be shipped USPS overnight air."

LOL...That guys must be the Guru of the reef hobby. To get live rock to grow is an absolute miracle....I could learn a little something from him, we all could.

I have 3x5gal buckets of this "rare" coral outside my back door!

On Ebay......

"rare" coral on ebay???......NO WAY!! :hammer:

its possible, i've seen it happen in someones tank. although, its not really "rock" in my opinion that is growing. its very brittle.....reminds me exactly of what the inside of a branch of frogspawn looks like. sorta like layers of dead skeleton forming overtop of layers of more dead skeleton.

no way a dead coral skeleton, much alone tongan rock can "grow" in a home reef tank. tongan live rock is like quartz. its some of the most dense live rock i've ever used....probably the heaviest too.

geez, REV, I cant believe you did not call dibbs on that one

The seller claims to have had these “rare corals” for years and seen growth. But the funniest part for me is the great names he has given to his base rocks. “Branched Coral, Lettuce-Leaf coral“, Thick Finger Coral. He calls two of them Lettuce-Leaf coral I think he couldn’t think of any more names. Someone should email the seller and see if this is a scam a joke or just some nut who thinks he has “live coral”.
