My disappointment with Rare Reef(CoralCon) is nearly inexplicable. I was one of the few people at CoralCon who attempted to defend them even though the show was a complete disappointment. However, after my most recent transaction with them as a vendor and a business, I am done trying to defend them. The show was unorganized and seemed like it was thrown together at the last minute. The doors opened late both days; the "goody" bags mostly had advertisements in them (The only reason I got some flake food in my bag was because I was one of the first few people in the door).; the raffle was not all it was made out to be and was also completely unorganized. It was not worth the trip down from Georgia and certainly was not worth the entrance fee. While at CoralCon, I purchased two corals from Rare Reef directly. I was looking for a specific piece and I was told that I was getting it. However, when I got the corals home and they opened up in my tank, turns out I received something different than what I was told. I looked up their website to find out what I received and found a very similar piece listed for nearly half the price I paid. The owner admitted to me at the show that the guys helping him had no idea what they were doing and that he doesn't know what is listed on facebook and for how much because "someone else handles that." So if you ask these guys in person you will get at least two different answers, both of which will be different than what is on their website and facebook. When I brought the mix up to the attention of Rare Reef I was told I could ship it back to them and they would refund the money but that I should be satisfied with the coral I received and the price I paid for it. Apparently these guys have no clue what it means to run a business. I was looking for a very specific piece and would not have spent one dollar on this coral because it was not what I was looking for. After several emails back and forth in an attempt to come to a fair resolution, they simply stopped responding. They ripped me off and their only solution was for me to pay to ship the piece back to them. I would not recommend this business or CoralCon to anyone. Waste of time and money.

Clearly you are not a professional. If you took on more than you could handle by putting on a show and attempting to have a booth at the same show, that is your own fault. I did not pick the corals myself. I told you I was looking for the bob marley and you said you had it, we discussed price and you bagged it. If you remember correctly, your guys brought the corals that morning and they weren't fully open. You sold me a piece that you represented to me was a bob marley acan. Through personal, private emails I told you that I would be satisfied with a partial refund or even a partial store credit. Your decision to stop responding shows your unwillingness to work with customers. My business with you is done and I will not hesitate to share my unfortunate experiences with others. If you do not like bad reviews, change how you do business. The acan I received was not what I wanted or what I was told I was getting. You seem to be forgetting that key concept. Grow up. Be a professional and handle customer complaints as they come to you privately and you will prevent these bad reviews.

looks like I'm not the only person having problems with them... I still have not received any resolution from them.

Rare reef

My post on my coralcon experience with rare reef got deleted but they are very unprofessional and blasted me on their fb.
Hard to get a hold of. Wouldnt respond to me after a bit until my bf left them a voicemail.
I wont order from them as beautiful as the corals look to be on fb and then asked why I talked about them on r2r. Hmm. And the only reason nobody posted reviews on their website is bc (when I tried anyway) there is nowhere to post or didnt work.

Then told me they had nothing to do with the show... does coralcon committee mean something else then cause im confused?
