Rare soft corals

Wow I paid way to much for my frag but this is one of my favorites lol
Gary (@Fin)and I where just saying that this hobby needs to go back to how things used to be where you bought coral at the LFS and then gave out the frags to local reefers for free or at least really cheap. It helps keep a sense of comradery in the local reefing community.

Of course back then you didn’t buy ‘frags’ at an LFS, you bought colonies, by todays standard any way.

Still POed but at least the glue is holding.

That is a beautiful piece, sadly I can't get many retailers to ship here so I'll just sit back and enjoy the eye candy

Not really unusual, but this thing had great polyp extension in my old tank. Again, an old picture of a coral that I don't have any longer, but it sure was pretty. Glad I at least have some good photos of it. This was in my old 75 gallon. It had a 30 gallon refugium and lighting was two 250 watt metal halide bulbs and 4 VHO bulbs.

Try Aquacorals, Penny usually has a large selection. You might find something you don’t have!
I actually got my willow from her and a few others but her shipping prices are rough. Every coral I added got the shipping up. It was like over $100 shipping for just 2 corals. I ordered a nice yellow something but it was purple when it came. Ended up not being like the photo so I opt to go with wysiwyg

yikes, that shipping is crazy. I have 4 corals in my cart there for over $150 and shipping is $87? what the heck........

KPAquatics has a nice selection of gorgonians, and I've never seen a black sea rod (Plexaura homomalla) for sale- so I guess that counts as rare. :-)

Yeah it was insane. I even asked her about it and she said the more corals the more shipping. No minimums or anything so I backed out except for the Willow which I took the plunge for . Hard to pay $100 in shipping when you can get it for free through LA

Nice! looks like an Aussie Toad

Not sure. I have several Aussie toadstools, and the polyps on this one are a lot larger and look more like flowers. Plus the background colour is this crazy lavender purple. I agree probably same family, but maybe not Australia. I think it came through Indo or Japan.
