Some comparisons of Teardrop clams.

Any Teardrop clams are uncommon because they originate from just a few places in the world and are not regularly imported.

There are unique patterns and colors of Teardrop clams that are much less common compared to the "regular" Teardrops. These rarer colors occur in very remote and difficult to access areas in the South Pacific.

Colored Teardrop
The rarest of all the Teardrops are the colored Teardrops. They have the "regular " sized teardrop pattern, but with unique colors. Colored Teardrops are the least common of all Teardrops and have always been considered one of the Holy Grails by clam collectors. Many years ago the occasional colored Teardrop would be imported from the Solomon Islands. However, for whatever reason those clams were extremely difficult to keep alive. Likely this was due to collection and handling techniques. Today we bring them in from our partner diver from a remote South Pacific location. The collection and handling is superior for these prized gems.
