Am i over thinking this ? santa brought me a tmc vecton 120 uv sterilizer for my 100l tank , now at the mo as i have said in another post i do not have a sump so i have a jecod dcs-1200 pump running an algae then daisy chained to a rowa reactor at about half power .At the mo i am thinking of joining the sterilizer to the outlet pipe of my tank then to the pump (then daisy chain to the reactors) Now please dont not flame me for this as i do not know of another way to do this and i know it is far from ideal . The question is will the flow be to much taking in to account it has to go through the reactors as well or

should i add some "T" pipes and a valve ? if i do this will the sterilizer get enough water i.e will the pump be strong enough to pump the water through that as well ?and how i will sort the flow rate out i do not know . Am sorry for this type of question but i am not sure what to do or even if the sterilizer should be placed some were else like after the reactors .If i put it there i would have thought i would have even less control over the flow . Could a mod please change the title it should read plumb the uv , i can not see how to do it, my spelling gets worse:eek:;Hilarious

I have a jecod dcs-1200 pump running an algae scrubber
Daisy chained to a rowa phosphate reactor at about half power .
I am thinking of joining the sterilizer to the outlet pipe of my tank.
Then to the pump.

From what you are saying you want to put it in your tank drain line before the pump?

1st: What do you want the sterilizer to do?

Next : The water going thru the sterilizer should be as clean as possible for it to work as well as it can.
I would try to put it before the return to your tank (after all the reactors and stuff)

The sterilizer is there purely as an added defence to go with my bm q3 on order:) , i have moved the sterilizer so it is now after the two reactors .Do you think i still need to add a tap to lower the flow or do you think by the time the flow gets to it , the flow would not be to strong? I know that depends on a few things , what do you think ?

Since you are using it for algae reduction I would not worry about the flow. I think it is fine for now.
