This is my upgrade thread. I have just had a son and now my wife is due mid February so I will do my best to keep this updated. I have a few neat things planed for this build that I am not sure anyone has tried. The tank is about 100 gallon glass. the tank is 36x24x24. I plan to use t5 for lighting. Im not sure when I will upgrade my skimmer. The tank will be a mixed reef with a lot of zoas. some sps and lps. I also like tabling acros and caps so we will see how it turns out.

fts as it stand empty. It will sit flat against the wall. I pulled it out to get a better view. It is in the bedroom.

close up of the stand I built. I think it turned out well for a amateur.

I still consider myself a newb so any advice would be appreciated.

Can't wait to see how this turns out.

I have made a ton of progress. I hope to get pics up by this weekend. I have a few zoas moved into the new system. I need to snap a few pics. I planed on document the build more but I needed to get a move one with the baby on due in a week.

I would like a skimmer recommendation. I need a new skimmer. I just set up a tank that is 150 to 200 total gallons. It will be a mixed reef and as of now I plan on feeding heavy to help growth. I also do not plan on many fish. I would like a good skimmer but dont want to break the bank. I just dont want junk. thanks.

My friend snapped this pick of the new set up. A little washed out but oh well. Hard to see the depth but the tank is 24 inches deep and 36 inches long. I also designed it to have a good view from the side.(no pics) on the left there is a table that floats over the sand but im not sure you can see it in the pick.

sorry I would have cleaned the glass had I known he was taking picks.

man I am happy with my new skimmer. here are a tone of pics of the unboxing and the Diy stand.

This is the stand I built. I wanted something nice and stable. easy to clean and cheap. I also was excited to get the skimmer running but did not want to wait for acrylic or pvc cement to dry so I came up with this. let me know if you have any questions.
