Hello everyone,

I've been trying to collect hammer corals. Would be curious to see some rarer color morphs/shapes the community here has seen. IDC if it's a wall or branching, frammer, etc. Here are a few cool ones I've got saved (no clue which of these are photoshopped...):

Beautiful. The rarest hammer I've seen (except for your excellent beautiful pictures) is the one my dad inherited from his grandfather - which is made of brass. Sorry - the real comment - is your examples are awesome

I picked up this spectacular hammer from @CherryCorals a while back. It's one of the best I have seen in person.

I love hammers and have a few different varieties now

Awesome garden man! The diversity in this species blows my mind...

I'm also trying to collect all the hammers. I started searching a few months ago. The most spectacular hammer I've seen in person was a mini colony of different colored hammers and tentacles. There were the common blue greens and purples, but this one also had part of the colony with gold hammers. Besides that the other two rarest variations I've seen are two variations of gold hammer. One has gold tentacles and clear hammers but looks blue under blue light. I think some companies call it hologram but I'm not sure if its the same. The other one has blue tentacles and the hammers are really bright. It was called a yellow hammer at the lfs. I'm mainly looking for a blue and red/pink hammer but if I see a frag I don't have I'm tempted to buy it.

Wow! Some beautiful hammers there :)

Imagine a uniform variation in color and one head is gold but on a mini colony

Regular gold hammer on the left. I call it a reverse gold hammer on the bottom. Yellow hammer above that. I put it like that because it has two baby heads and is forming a third. The way it extends its shading it’s own babies so hopefully it’s light acclimating itself.

Not the rarest I've seen but these are rarest I currently own. I am not so good at pics so hard for me to capture some of the variety of colors some of these have in person.

One of my favorites a blotched yellow Aussie thick branching hammer.

One of my favorite indo branching and then an some indo golds on left and more of an indo orange branching on the right edge. It actually has green mixed with orange in person

This is an orange Aussie thick branch hammer. On the left is a rainbow wall hammer.

If you zoon in on one in middle some very nice green/orange mixed in.

This looks pretty different it’s like a bicolor splatter but the purple bailed out and it’s not very splattered.

Best wall hammer I’ve seen in person. I remembered this thread so I took a video of it.

I really need to get some wall hammers. I just love the look of the kinds that have the bright colors just along the tip of the polyp.

Yup so many people don't like them or think they die too easy but they are definitely one of my favorites. I have about 15 wall hammers at the moment and find that when I first import them it is a bit riskier but after I had them iny system a few weeks they are no more likely to die for me than a branching(ie very rarely happens).

Well I think I'm going to start hunting some down now! Thanks for the inspiration! I tried one very early in my reefing career and killed it but that was many years ago. I have a lot of branching now and they are all doing fantastic.
