It doesn't itch, just Burns, goes away after a couple hours but comes right back the second I'm in the tank. I have a super stressed green finger leather could it be the culprit for this:

I get this also sometimes. I just chalked it up to sensitive skin. The saltwater is harsh on some skin types.

Well that would sound right except that my tank was empty on Tuesday night and I rearranged everything like 4 times to make it perfect for my shipment of corals on Wednesday. I seriously spent 4 hours in the water and nothing, corals came yesterday and i've had to rearrange them a couple times since my leather wasn't happy it was making my zoas super unhappy. And after only 5min or so of being in the water the "rash" is there. I haven't done anything different to the water.

^^^^ Use to happen to me all the time but now run carbon reactor 24/7 seems to have solved the problem in my case

I started a carbon filter after I realized my leather was being a total jerk, my zoa started to open within 5 minutes! I haven't put my hands in it again since then and Idk if I want to just to see if it will cause.pain lol

Do you have Dino's in your tank? I had a problem like this and it was from an outbreak of Dino's. Once I got rid of the dinoflagellates the skin problem went away.

I guess it's possible but highly unlikely, I have 99% dry rock and just put in 7 new frags 2 days ago

This is weird. I just re did my tank the other day and have noticed a burning sensation near my forearm. I re did everything and had the rock in buckets.

I too would like to know If this could have influenced the rash

You should probably use gloves if you're the type of person that has multiple allergies.

Tahoe, I'm not even allergic to poison ivy. I am barely bothered by seasonal allergies.

Hmm that is odd. I have gotten the occasional rash but it was usually after moving rocks with palys or zoanthids. Some people develop a horrible contact dermatitis when working in the tank, that is the reason I suggested gloves. I myself have never been able to stand wearing them when working in a tank, but I can see the rational behind wearing them.

As painful as this is I'll be wearing gloves for a while at least til I figure out who's the trouble maker.
