I got a frag of these today. It's still in transit so no pics but what should I do before pitting in the tank?

It's got about 15 polyps on the piece.

Coral dip to remove any hitch hikers. Then put in DT.

All zoanthids and palythoa have a toxin in them called palytoxin, the levels of which vary from species to species. It can be really rough on any open wounds and your eyes. Just be careful not to smush them when you handle them and you'll be fine. If you ever frag them wear latex or nitrile gloves and some safety glasses and don't lick your fingers haha

The safest way is to get some latex/nitrile gloves from your local pharmacy. They will usually be a box of 50-100 for about 8 bucks or less. You can rubber band the cuffs to your arms when going into the tank to prevent water leakage into the gloves. Depending on the species of zoa/paly they can secrete more or less of the toxin. Some species can "squirt" if stressed and there was a report of someone getting shot in the eye, hence the recommendation to wear glasses of some sort. I picked up a pair of those construction safety glasses that woodworkers use from the hardware store. Do not touch your face at all until you've washed with soap and water after handling.

Got it from a store in Daytona while I was on vacation. Paid 20 bucks because he was clearing out so he could move his store.

Yeah had I known how well they would take to my tank, I would have gotten so much more stuff.

I want to cover the rock I put them on with various zoas now.
