Is the care of a Rasta zoas the same as any other zoa?

They are the same care requirements yes.... sometimes they do well and sometimes they don't, they can handle a good amount of light and are forgiving in terms of water quality..

Ehhhhh, zoas in general can be a bit tricky so no, I wouldn't say they're perfect for beginners

A lot of people group them in with beginner corals because they don't require much at all.. a zoa rock was my beginner coral 2 years ago and i still have the same zoas i have, they have survived tank crashes and parameter fluctuations. But like stated above some can be tricky and some grow slow and some grow fast.
