Rate My First Ever Saltwater Aquascape!

Hello, this is my first ever saltwater aquascape ever and I would like to hear some feedback and constructive criticism before cementing it. The cardboard layout has the dimensions of a 75 gallon tank which is what I am scaping for.

I am no expert by any stretch of the imagination bit here are my thoughts. I like the overall look but I also like negative space so if that were my tank I would separate the left hump from the right hump if you're able to. An arch/bridge might also be nice but you might be limited on space to do that. I like seeing fish, etc. pass through sections as opposed to just over and around. I like everything else. I look forward to reading what pro aquascapers have to say.

Looks good! Plan on the sand being about 2" high up the bottom of the scape, so it will look a little different in the tank. But i think it looks really good.

I dig it. Be careful with flow inside the “c” shaped areas you created. It will either create areas where the sand builds up or gets carved out.

Looks good. I would bring the sides in a little so you have more room on the sand bed.

Imo no ones an aqua scape pro. Its art made through an individuals eyes. Do you like it? Van gogh paintings go for millions that I wouldn't pay a dollar for... Just make sure to leave space behind the rocks to clean.

I quite like it. Its natural looking. I’m not really a big fan of unnatural looking arches, trees, or towers. The focal and juxtaposing or tension creating lines are pretty decent and not overly obvious. It’s got varying heights for coral placement and different areas or territories for fish to claim. Overall it’s pretty good!

I like it. The advice about the sand bed (unless you are going bare bottom) is a good one. When I layed my aquascape out I have several caves/tunnels on the very bottom. Those are now under the substrate. Now my engineer gobies use them at least.

I think you've done a fantastic job for a first aquascape! It sure beats my tries over years!
I do like to leave about two or three inches between it and the glass around it for easy off cleaning the glass. That also allows the fish more swimming and hiding areas. Keep going and good luck!

I like how you have it stacked more on the back to allow plenty of room for flow and room for fish to swim in an open area

@KrabzAga - my compliments. I think it looks great! Some of the other commenters have some good ideas, but especially for your maiden voyage, I'm impressed.

Looks good… on my own tanks, most of my base rocks are drilled and have acrylic rod legs, so that they are more stable and there are more hiding spots and less dead spots under the rocks

Nice. Just be sure not too close to glass for both flow and ability to clean the glass. Also corals need room to spread depending on what you put in (monti's etc.)
