Rate my new 40 breed build

The tank was setup two day ago.

My equipment I have

2 x prime he lights
Eshoppes overflow box M
4" filter sock
Eshoppes x-120 protein skimmer
2 x ehime Jaguar heaters
Ink bird temperature controller
Since 3.0 return pump
BRS GFO and Carbon reactor
Tunze ATO
Zent light for fuge

Still need to buy powerheads think of going with two ecotech mp-10

Looks great! Very similar to my 40 breeder, except I went with the Eclipse Small. Definitely would recommend the MP10's I have a pair on mine and they work great

Thank you and I'm definitely going to go with the mp-10s just have to save some money.

I donated plasma at biolife to save up for all my stuff. Definitely takes time to save up, but your dancing with excitement the whole time you're waiting lol.

i like it, you are off to a great start, you will most likely end up moving the RO unit somewhere else and run some tubing to the sump

Modular Marine ghost overflow
Eshoppes x-120 protein skimmer
1 x ehime Jaguar heaters
Reef Octopus Varios 2 or 4, whatever is the smallest.

I went with 2 Jebao pp4 for powerheads.

I'm holding off on a temp controller, because it's almost half the price of a reefkeeper on sale and the reefkeeper does so much more. But I'm holding off on getting a reefkeeper because it's 1/4 of the price of a Apex, and why not spend 4 times the money!?!

I'd that a 40b sump as well?

Sounds like you have a nice setup and do you like the pp-4 powerheads I'm still in the market for powerheads and my temperature controller is a ink bird from bulk reef supply it was only $38 it works nice

I bought 2, 2 years ago and have had one in my biocube for 2 years and it works fine. I took it out for cleaning and swapped in the other one. I only use the pulse setting.

My 40b is actually not up and running, I have all the parts, I just need the weekend tome to rinsih the stand

Nice looking tank and scape! From a science and numbers standpoint however, the tank could be much better. When placing live rock, you should try and place as little surface area on the actual substrate as possible (I know it is easier said than done). Your rocks should have only one of their corners planted in the substrate with the rest of the rock suspended in the water column. This is a rule which is seldom followed but makes a big difference in the long-term detritus build up within your tank. Large surface interaction with the substrate causes a large build up of detritus and other compounds such as ammonia etc which is rather difficult to reach when siphoning the tank etc. When you finally do manage to reach this area of the tank, depending on the quantity of elements there and the amount of time they have been dormant, their siphoning/disturbance can cause major issues with your water chemistry, similar in effect, to the reaction from disturbing an old dsb (deep sand bed).. That being said, many reef-keepers choose to do otherwise and get away with it. I can only give you advice in hopes that you are fully aware of your options.
