Hi Guys. My first reef tank and almost first post. I have created my scape and am looking for feedback. The center-right lateral horn is about 2in from the front glass. Will this be a problem? I have lots of places for coral and hopefully places for fish to hide. Let me know what you think. Thank you!

Thank you! Oddly enough I ordered about 75lbs of rock and used maybe 50-60% of that. So I am not sure what the 1lb/1gallon rule came from unless I did something wrong. Lol.

Second question. Should I make the sand slightly higher in the back than in the front?

The 1lb per gallon rule was for Live rock which is considerably heavier.

Just dump the sand in and make sure it is around the bases of the rock. Pumps will put the sand where it wants so to speak. Erratic flow will make the sand shift around and settle in peaks, valleys, holes, and rolling hills.

Use the left over rock for islands and put some in the sump and/or fuge. You can pull it out from the sump later and it will be good live rock.
