Have a yellow tang that eats quite well about anything I give it. Got some pictures of this guy to see wether I am feeding him enough. I prefer to do lighter feeds on a day to day basis but I am wondering if the tang needs to get juiced up a bit more?

Looks a bit thin in the last picture but overall healthy. Tangs are grazers, it will be much happier if you keep some nori in the tank most of the time for it to pick at.
Agreed. Good color and looks in overall good health, just could use a bit more meat on him though.

Here are my tangs and Foxface to give you an idea how you want them to look. I feed them this type of nori in daily and they decimate it within minutes. Not the best pictures of them, but hopefully they are good enough to see.

Beautiful tank! That purple tang looks fat and happy.

Tang looks good. Its not a matter of how much you are feeding but what you are feeding with the belief that although herbivorous, they do need fats, aminos and meats in their diet.
Feed at Minimum:
Nori seaweed basted with garlic extract
Spirulina brine shrimp
mysis shrimp
small plankton
LRS Herbivore diet
Hikari marine cuisine
Hikari mega Veggie diet
Formula 2 flake and frozen

Also add selcon vitamins to the foods 2-3x per week and garlic extract on alternating days.

Yeah it looks typical of a skinny yellow tang that has just eaten its over fair share of food and has a full belly. You will not see a belly like that on a very seasoned well fed tang as their stomach bodies are more rounded when spoiled rotten with Nori. The tang looks great though. As everyone states. Put some nori in the tank and he will fill out a bit and not be as skinny. Good looking yellow tang.

My rescue scopas, she will always have the scars but is built like a brick now, as said by a few nori with garlic but I also grow caulerpa to feed my tangs and fox face.

Fat and happy Sailfin - missing dorsal fin and has scars from HLLE. Previous owner took her as a rescue from LFS and nursed her back to health and had her for 5 years before he tore down his systems to move out of state and gave her to us because we had a large enough tank and no other tangs. She is about 8". She eats Nori from my hand.
