Ray's Frag-a-lious Tank Build

That looks great Ray!
I love how you left the center open for sump access and how you overbuilt the stand so it's ready when up size the tank. :)

sorry if i missed it but why the seperate the two sides? look great though just wondering

I will have a 4 in. sandbed on one side with low to mid flow (adjustable) and the other side will have very high flow for SPS. I will have 2 different lighting for each side as well one is 6.5k with 460mm LEDs and the other is straight 14k LEDs. I'm still debating running T5s pure atinics with the collimated LEDs.

The divider has an equalizer so it will keep the water level, leveled on both side. If you notice in the latest pic there is a good amount of flow on the right side and minimal on the left

Thanks for noticing Chris  Nate (Nandkblock) thought all this out for me. He did a great job! Overbuilt, lol I was jumping on it..haha

Paly/Zoa frag test, looks like it is aclimating well after 15 mins. *Looks like it wants to kiss me!?!* I don't have my lights yet, *Coming Thursday* so I'm just using my back-up *CF hood*

Alrighty, got my LEDs and not what I expected. I am reverting back to my original plan of dual 250w MH. When I installed the first one I thought it was bright enough so I decided to place it in the center of the tank. With my DIY Light Stand, it also swivels from left to right. Now I'm thinking of running T5 one side and MH the other. Here is some update pics with my DIY light stand.

That is a very nice tank. I would love something like that. If I could only figure out how to move the iguana cage into the girls room, then I would have space for it.haha

Very nice looking tank and build :) Do you still have the Led lights? it would be cool to see a picture of how they look at least. Very nice tank!

The LEDs were from LEDwholesale.com They are probably great for Nano tanks, but not a 2 x 2 unless I'm running 4 of them @ $150 ea. panel. They were also collimated LEDs

Thanks All

update:

Acans are moved in, more livestock to come ;)

Looks like a feeding frenzy, lol including the leathers (Tyree and Japanese ones in front)

I love it, seriously. Can i copy you? What type of flow of will you have for both sides?

I divided the tank so that I can control the flow better on each side. The Left side (no sand bed) will have about 350G on the return and a 1200GPH K4 pump at the moment. so that it would be around 1500+ GPH on one side @ 33G of water volume. Close to 50x flow, great for SPS and Acros

The right side (Sand bed) has a K1 Pimp @ 400GPH and 350GPH return @ 33G of water volume = 25x flow for LPS, low flow demand corals.

Here is the pic of the final frag build. Sump is all setup and i'll take a pic another on it.

Sump equipment:

I-Tech 400 model Skimmer w/2 sicce pump *modded* 1850 lph Airflow
Mag 9 Return Pump
BRS Carbon Reactor
50 lbs. LR rubbles
Tropic Marin UV 25W sterilizer
ATO- Kalkwasser (timer)

Lighting:
250W 20k SE w/ SLS Lumenmax II
SLS Bluewave Ballast Dual 250W SE
WavePoint T5 24" 4 Bulbs w/Parabolic Reflectors and built-in GFI tester Outlet

Future plans:
Run a separate refugium, plumbed into sump.
