Hi, I recently purchased a maxspect rsx r5 150w light and the system clock loses the current time whenever the power is cut off. This means if there's a power outage the light will reset its internal clock to midnight when the power comes back on. I emailed maxspect but have not gotten a response yet.

I assume the internal battery is dead or not making a good connection. When I open up the unit I can see a button battery (see attached photo). However I have had no luck accessing that battery. Its sandwiched between two PCBs and I've haven't been able removing to top PCB. As it is I don't have enough room to remove the battery. The battery itself seems pretty losely inserted, but attempting to push it further in or wiggle it around didn't solve my problem.

Anyone dealt with this on their light?

Got a response from maxspect:

PLEASE make sure the light is unplugged.

You will need to pop the black round rubber pieces off and un screw the screws. Next you will need to remove the black plate on the bottom side of the light next to the LED pad. Then you will need to pop the knob off using a flat head screws driver and unscrew the nut, once you unscrew the nut push down and the control board will pop down. However if you push to hard on the control board you will break the prongs so be gentle. I did try to upload a video however the file was to large.

PLEASE note if the light gets damaged we are not responsible and any damage will not be covered under warranty.

Hi triskos, I have the same lamp but with a 300 version and got the same problem as you.
So do you already fixed the problem by following the video from maxspect?
