My RBT is either sick or dying i cannot tell I have experience with nems but one has never gotten sick like this before. He was fine yesterday and the day before fully inflated and to day when i was doing the water change i noticed he moved about an inch to the left of where he was and underneath him was a slime layer on the rock and he also had slime on him and his mouth was open. He is in a tank with silver xenia and african blue xenia but they are not close enough to harm him and the frog spawn is in a corner of the tank. He does not have flow directly blowing on him just around him.
paramiters
ph 8.3
sg 1.026
temp 82
nitrate < 5mg/l
nitrite o mg/l
ammonia 0mg/l
phosphate < 0.5 mg/l
ca 440
alk 12 dkh
the tank is turning over 13 and a half times per hour
skimmer is on 24/7 for dry skim
refugium with chaetomorpha.
He is under halide lights
I use brightwell neo-marine salt and let it mix for 24 hours and match temp ph and salt and for the gasses to balance.
I use brightwell reef code A and B in equal amounts
I use aqua vitro 8.4 for ph.
I use aqua vitro balance to regulate the difference between ca and alk.
Please help I don't want him to die in the tank but i don't want to give up on him either my hospital tank is not good enough to nurse him back to health.
I feed him about once every ten days a silverside soaked with zoecon ( liquid multi-vitamin)
All help is appreciated. thank you:squigglemouth:

Any swings in any of your parameters (particularly alk, temp, and salinity)? Also, how big is the nem & are you feeding it whole silversides or are you chopping them up? It may just be struggling to excrete waste if you're feeding them whole.

I had a small swing with my alk and the ph with the water change but it was with in one degree of where it was. the temp was the same as the the tank that i added water to. For his silver sides i cut them in to 2 if there small and three pieces if they are big and i do not feed them the head. and they are soaked in Zocon for 5 to 10 min for absorption. So i am kind of clue less as to why he is not happy. he seems to be a little better now but he is still not his self. He is still kind of young he is about 6 inches in diameter when fully open.

If any one still has input it would be appreciated.

I have a green bta and boy is he a fussy little guy the slightest change in water flow will deflate him & make him look awful 2 days ago I gave all my powerheads a vinegar cleaning later I noticed he wasn't looking so good after messing around with them he was finally happy & is now looking good didn't have any direct flow just a bit more because when I put one of the maxi jets back in I didn't put it as low in the tank as it had been your tank stats look good to me pretty much what I have so try moving powerheads & see what happens goood lluck! hth
