My RBTA was completely open today earlier in the morning and yesterday but it did this today and yesterday, it randomly closed. No idea why.

Someti s they will close up or stay closed here and there. Can sometimes have to do with if they just ate.

If the foot isn't torn and the mouth isn't gaping it should be fine, just part of their cycle. If you find it stays closed up for a long time then I'd be concerned. If that occurs post your latest tank parameters as well.

They do this sort of thing all the time. As long as parameters are in check, lighting is solid, and tank is mature there shouldn't be any concerns.

Uhhhhhh my tank is not necessarily mature, 2 months but it’s been doing fine for a week and my LFS said my parameters were fine for it.
Find a new lfs to ask questions of... "fine parameters" is meaningless. STABILITY is the key and it will take more than a week to determine this.

But agree with others that nems are weird and will close/shrink randomly and it doesn't mean there's anything wrong.

And how long will it stay closed?
As long as it wants. I had one stay shrunken for weeks and then one day it was back to "normal".

Remember, these are live animals reacting to an environment very different from the one they are meant to be in. Be patient and just enjoy the process (and the quirks, lol)

90 gallon so should be decently stable right?
Not necessarily... it should be easier to maintain stability *once you get there* but a new tank is a new tank and without a months' worth of parameter history, it's impossible to tell if yours has reached any level of stability.

I usually don’t recommend anemones in tanks until the tank is 6 months or older. This allows time for the tank to mature and have a more established micro biome. Sure your tanks parameters can be stable, but that doesn’t mean it’s mature enough. I would get your own test kits (salifert, hanna, redsea).
