My RBTA hasn't had the bubbly tips you usually see.they are thin like spaghetti.what would cause this
Thanks

No one really knows. It does not seem to be a health issue. Some bubble, some do not.

I dont think there is a universally agreed upon reason as to why some bubble tips keep their bubbles and some dont. I have one in my tank that stays bubbled up all the time, but my friend who has the same nem has no bubbles, but its colored up and healthy :)

It is still small maybe they will come back.
Can I ask oNE more opinion
I have a kessil a 160 over it
It is in a 75 gal
How much light is too much
I was told crank it all the way up
An a160 in a 75 yes ull want to turn it up. But if it isnt already do it slowly.

Not doing ^this^ is how I bleached my BTAs are few years back(gotta admit they looked cool though - all white and translucent). I am a firm believe in light acclimation now. I've got them under 360s @ 100%, and they love life. Slow and steady wins the race!

Also, in regards to bubbling (and in general) BTAs are mysterious. They'll also tie themselves in knots, plant their foot in weird places so they are hanging upside down (but facing up). Mine have long and stringy tentacles 95% of the time.

Behold, my double bubble!

Well I've only had mine a couple of weeks .I'll try and get a good pic tonifht when I get home.I'm hoping to have a tank like yours someday it's beautiful

Feed it. 2 silversides soaked in Selcon. Weekly or so.
This is one of the discussions as to why some anemones bubble and others dont. The theory is that if its bubbled up it's full, if it's long and stringy its hungry and sweeping for food. I used to believe this theory to be true until recently. I've had my bubble for almost a month now and have not fed it once, and it's still bubbled up and colorful as ever.

Here it was tonight when I got home
A160 at 85 percent white and 75 blue
Not sure what to do with the blue to he honest

Kessils are awesome like that - It doesn't matter what you do w/ the blue. Tune it to your flavor. Your nem will get the spectrum she needs. For What its worth, and I'm pretty cautious, but I started my 360S at like 40% Intensity and slowly worked my way up to 100% over about 2 months. Also tinkered w/ the blues till I found a color range that I like.

Same! That along w/ the "too much flow" theory makes the tentacles spaghettify. Mine sit in front of a gyre (I live dangerously) and I've seen them bubble (or not).

I think BTAs just like to irritate new owners with expectations :). "Oh you want me to stay right here? Nah, I'm going over here. Also, there will be no bubbles for you. Or maybe there will be. Or no."
