What's going on with my RBTA, it's been like this for a couple weeks now. If I hold a piece food over it, it will bubble around it and seems to be eating it. That's the most I've seen it open in the past few days, a little bigger than a 50 cent piece.

It's dying.how old is your tank.what lights are you using.how big is your tank.what kinda flow do you have.do you use filter socks.

If i was you and I wanted to try and save the anemone I would give it to a local reefer that is known to keep rbta.as i dont see it lasting much longer in your tank.

I would recommend trying a cipro treatment in a separate tank. My bta recently experienced the same ordeal and basically had no tentacle length left. I took it out and started a 250mg tx daily for 1 week. I now have it back in my DT and tentacles are growing back and looks 100% better.

It would be worth a shot before throwing in the towel.

Where do you get cipro?

Tank is 112 gallon semi cube, the tank itself is over 4 years old. I've had it since October, used the existing rock with all new water. Tank age has nothing to do it as my acropora corals are doing well and I'm an experienced reefer, been doing this for over 15 years. Never had a RBTA though. I'm using a gen2 and a gen3 radion for lighting and a maxspect gyre at 40% for flow. Just curious, what does a filter sock matter?

Here is a photo of mine when it was almost a goner and when I started treatment.

And this is a photo from today of the same bta. During treatment it lost some of its zooxanthellae but has been recovering well. It now has pink tips with green base tentacles.

I have had bta's do that randomly. will use your treatments next time.

Here's the anemone now, didnt do anything different except force fed it 2-3 times a week! Thanks for your advice though, lol.
