Hello, I have had a Red Bubble Tip Anemone for about a whole year, but recently it has been bleaching and the so called tentacles(??) have gone away. It used to be giant and it would make everyone just stare at it! It was about 8 inches wide and some of the tentacles were probably 6 inches long! It was a beautiful pink color! For the last two months though, it has been only about 2 inches wide with virtually no tentacles.... The color has been all white with spontaneous pink tips developing but they go away... I need some help. I fed them about 1 or two times per week. The only thing i have changed since I got the tank was I added a protein skimmer. I didn't think this would be a problem, but I also have heard it can strip nutrients... Any ideas would be great!!

It's not the protein skimmer. Do you have coral in the tank? What are your alk/cal/mag/nitrate/nitrite/ph levels? How much light do you have on it, what light and what duration?

What you are describing is a dieing and bleached anemone and one that has basically been starving for a long while to get to that point.
