i have a RBTA it moves around a bit based on a new gyre changing the flow. It recently moved next to my paly cluster. it deflates at. lights out and usually expands with the LED sunrise. today over three hours later i took this pic and two hours later the next, the third
was in December. i have been feeding it krill and various frozen foods. is there an explanation for it shrinking to a little patch of threads laying on the rock and remaining that way during daylight?

BTAs have their own personalities -- some deflate at night, others do not. Yours seems to be doing fine. All of the photos don't show anything usual.

Since you're feeding it quite a bit, that can explain the deflating because that's how they typically remove waste.

thank you, my son reports that it opened its mouth and it closed it soon after, he was not watching to see if anything was ejected, but it does not seem to be in distress,

mine usually ball up a day after feeding, at night (not always), and sometimes even during the day. I'd say what yours is doing pretty normal behavior

thanks i have my animals spaced out but after hiding on the back side of the rock it came around to the front and has jumped to a different rock then back. ok, I thought, it is looking for a good flow/light spot. what is unusual is that it closed in on the paly and does not seem to be bothering, or being bothered by, it
