I came home last night to find that my Rainbow BTA was starting to split. I have been in the hobby for 15 years, I've never had one split. I know that it is natural and perfectly healthy, but mine have always just gotten bigger and bigger, never split. For those that have had them split, do they continually split? How often does it happen? Pictures during the split and this morning.

It's totally unpredictable. Another reason they split is for self preservation - when it's not happy.

i bought my rainbow bubble and i bought one of its splits to have 2 in the tank, the larger one has split 2 times on me and the smaller one split once.
I have had them both for about 3 months maybe 4 now.
So in that time twice for the larger and once for the smaller. I feed mine so i know its that.

all are doing good and im trying to see if i can trade 1 or 2 locally for maybe a green bubble or some LPS
