Looked in my tank and this is what I found, so started taking shots. Enjoy!

It's just actually tearing itself apart, awesome! Is anything being released into the tank while it is doing this? Any gunk or body parts??

Thanks everybody! I thought it was exciting. Nothing was released into the tank that I could see. In the most recent picture you can see how unhappy by hammer coral is. It is usually full and you can't see the base at all. Its home WAS in the barnacles at the top where one of the baby nem now resides. The chalice at the top has been sliming all evening so its not happy either. I think they will be OK though. I figure leave the slime on them because that is their protection.

i love when my anemone's split as well! I never seem to get it at the right time though to get pictures! I will see it partially split, and next thing you know it's two... i always miss the good part! lol

I don't know all the reasons a nem will split but I've heard frequent feedings or stress. Mine gets fed a couple of times a week so that is probably why it split.
Nice splitting action. What exactly causes the nem to want to split. Is it just a kind of random occurrence.

Ah ok. I got a metallic bta a few weeks ago. Just trying to learn as much as I can about them. I feed mine a few times a week too.
