I have a rbta, about 1 month agi it started not doing too good. In fact no matter what I tried to do, it seemed not to work, she was dying before my eyes. When she started to look really bad, I removed her from my dt to my hospital tank. She lost al tentickle extention, color, mouth gaping open. All signs pointing out to a very sick nem. Now almost a month, maybe a lil more, she is still alive right now mouth closed and one side of the body has minimal tentickle extention. Although very very short, I can see the pink. I moved her back to my dt because lighting is much better. Any suggestions, ideas??? Im stumped. Of course I dont want her to die, I would love her to come back.. very confused because I dont want my cither beautiful corals to die. I work really hard on my tank.. :) please help...

You'll have to post your water chemistry and lighting type. Pictures are always appreciated as well when trying to resolve an issue.

I wish I could post pics. It wont let me st the moment. I have 4 t5's.. 2 blues one white and one pink.. parameters are
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 20
Amonia 0
Salinity 0.024
Like I said I just moved him from another tank to my DT...
Temp 78.2

Is the Anemone hosting any clowns?
Are you feeding it and if so what?
Are you dosing the tank with any products?
Is the foot injured?
Is the Anemone remaining footed?

No clowns ever hosted her.
When I feed she eats rods original
I dose ions, 8 4, calsification
I dont think the foot is injured, he is safely footed(stuck) on the rockreal good.

your nitrates are high do a water change, and keep feeding it. how often do you feed it? also how old is your tank?

I don't like to argue but not every tank should be zero nitrates and sterile. There are people like myself that let their nitrates get as high as 50 with good results. Ammonia and nitrites are new tank tests, so by you posting those params i would assume you are relatively new to this. What really maters is the big 4 cal alk nitr phos. In this particular instance my question would be where are your phosphates and how consistent is your alk, lighting schedule, and water changes. Stability is key.

And for the haters and non-believers nitrates 40 and phosphates.08 last night.

I have found the same thing to be true. Nitrates of 20 is nothing in an established tank with BTAs..
I dose ions, 8 4, calsification: What does this mean specifically?
I am not a huge advocate of supplemental feeding of BTA's, but since yours is failing you might try tiny pieces of raw fish once a week if it will take it.
How old are your bulbs?

I'm not telling you how to care for your tank because everyone does things differently and that's what makes this hobby fun but stability in alk salinity and phos is probably one of the most valuable lessens to learn.
