I put my cheapo canister filter with floss only to suck out and nasties. you can put in carbon and gfo too. I add bacteria as well.
Also have a bucket with a powerhead nearby.

I don't have a canister filter...would you just do a water change during? What do you do with all loose coral

Rescaping looks like it would be tough. but you could try getting some dry branching coral pieces and adding it to your existing scape.

I really like that idea and have thought about it. You reccomend getting dry rock?

Last time I was in Florida I picked up some and added it to my tank. It looked really cool but ended up taking it out because I got a XXL torch and it was the only way to fit it in.

The stuff under rocks can be nasty. a reactor works too. Id go BIG wc.
the coral goes in a spare tank or bucket with powerhead, heater if you need it.

Me no. I would cure the heck out of it first.

Hey while I have you hear I also read that adding an additional light (like I recently did) will give you a small area of cyano sometime?
l adding a new spectrum or intensity can sometimes increase photosynthesis in the cyano's growth so now the colony gets big enough to see. yes. (ie increase in par or intensity)
Sounds like upgrade time
Yea!

Did you say soemething like it was okay and healthy for your fish? And would eventually go away?
