Re-aquascape - Add New Dry rocks?

I have a 40g reef tank, with a few LPS + softies, and two SPS(monti + setosa). I'm thinking to re-aquascape using some additional dry. I will use all existing rock, to keep the biological filtration. Is it a big NO to add new rock after a tank is setup/established? I realize this could result in algae bloom. I have higher phosphate, which I'm trying to get slightly lower. So, don't want to make matters worse after adding dry rocks.

Depends on how much really. For example, if you have 50# live rock and you wanted to put 5-7 more that’s dry in there, you’re probably fine. You might see a diatom bloom, new algae but it won’t crash you. I wouldn’t do much more than that. If you want more. Cycle your dry rocks first, you could even use a small piece of your live rock to seed the cycle
