Hi everyone!
I am in the process of converting my 60 gallon freshwater tank to a saltwater tank. My only 2 remaining fish are a pair of 7 year old Sliver Dollars. I love those fish, and want to do right by them.
My question is, would you recommend for me to swap from tap water (historically all I've ever used for water changes) to RO/DI water in their tank prior to me bringing them to the LFS? If so, what ratio of RO/tap water should I slowly adjust to?
P.S. I know this will need to be a gradual adjustment as sudden and large water parameter changes are bad for their health.
