For a little while I've been observing my plate coral creeping forward in the tank. There's a photo in my hello post that shows just how close it had got to the torch, hammer and zoas. Once it got to the point where the zoas started closing up, I figured it was time to move it.

He's now in a much more open part of the sand bed, with little other than easily-moved mushrooms nearby. Clearly loving it, he's opened up big. I moved a lobo that was in that area up onto a rock near my turbinaria. The zoa polyps have opened back up again, and everybody seems happy.

You've got a beautiful tank going there. I am glad everything turned out to be fine for your corals after the changes.

I've heard Euphyllia can sting other corals, but seeing yours so close to the zoas gives me hope for my nano tank :).

I've heard that too. They didn't used to be that close; presumably there's been growth that's taken them closer. I might nudge them along a bit.
