I have a 180 that I have tried resealing. When I pulled the tape off the seals on one corner, I am unhappy with how the seal looks. I think it may be too small. I would like to redo this one corner (vertical). My question is can I scrape and clean this one corner out and re-apply silicone in just this one or do I need to redo the whole tank? I have not put any water or anything in the tank since resealing. Will the new silicone seal with the dried silicone I just put in.

I'm curious why you initially tried to reseal the tank. Was it leaking?

As far as I know you will have to redo the whole tank to fix that corner. New silicone will not stick to previously cured silicone giving you an exposed area where the two would meet.

I'm going to be resealing my 180 soon as well. I'm going to try something different that I have not seen after doing research. With how fast the silicone can initially "skin" and people having issues pulling the tape too late and messing up the edges I'm going to leave the tape on. I'm thinking of letting it fully cure. Then using the tape edge as a guide run a new razor blade right along that edge and removing tape that way. It should allow for a perfect edge. Any one see any issue with trying this way?

Good luck to the OP with whatever you decide.
