Re-scaping After Coral Growth

Again, my goal was to escape the "pile of rock" look to go a bit more minimalist with a "branching" look. Equally important, increase water flow across the tank.
No experience uploading pics to R2R but here goes.

The first pic is obviously a full tank shot. Red Sea 525 with a "rock pile" look.

The second pic is a front view of the rock structure I am toying around with. I promise, when I am done, it WILL NOT look like a dancing chicken!

The third view is from the side. Notice the room for flow.

While this structure is a composite of many smaller pieces, it comes apart in three sections that interlock pretty solidly. A front "low cave" piece, the middle column with attached overhang, and the rear support column.

Perhaps you can see the acrylic rods along the bottom of each piece. All of my rock "floats" on the sand bed on 3 or 4 clear, acrylic legs. Super stable, and easy to blow out detritus.

That is a really good idea putting legs on the rocks! Where did you get the acrylic rods?

@ChrisW yes, I have toyed with the idea of a couple of MP10s, or even a spray bar back there, down low. It would help, but my base rock is still really dense. I get great flow where it really matters (across the front and top 1/3 of tank where the SPS are) but the back wall base area is a PITA to keep clean. I don't like having potential nasties in my sandbed.

Yes, that is Caribsea rock. 80 lbs of the rock in my display is also CaribSea. On the table is 40lbs of regular, 20 lbs of shaped. BRS got it to me nicely. I like working with it and using Marco 400 mortar along with Jurassic Paleobond glue and accelerator.

Honestly, if I could find 3/8 vs 1/2 inch I would do that instead. It would be plenty strong. I had an earlier build with 1/4 rods and it worked but I was cautious about the weight load.

Yeah, in person it looks a chicken doing the limbo. By the weekend, I promise it won't resemble a chicken; maybe more of a pterodactyl.

I was of the same mindset when i first had the tank set up, and I rescaped it a month later after getting on this site and seeing and reading what others have done, I realised I had too much rock and too much height so I most like would've ran into problems w/ being too close to the surface and the lights. @KrisReef seemed to have good suggestions, but what don't you like about your current setup? Is it just the vertical rock columns that don't leave a lot of room for growth upward? Your tank height is the same as mine but I have 110g less. Its hard to tell but if someone showed me the pic of your tank and asked what was wrong, I wouldn't say too much rock, but maybe would need a little more horizontal spots as opposed to vertical. But thats not a criticism of the current setup. And all that being said I like what you got goin on there

Yes it is the vertical nature, and the lack of space between. The corals kinda cover it up in a picture anyway. Yes, I want to break up the visual with some horizontal spacing.

Lastly, I have a crowded frag tank of SPS beauties that need some space, so an acre of monti, GSP, and basic zoas gotta be rehomed.

Yea I have the same rock, I was going to suggest some of their shape rock to @LJLKRL05 for some horizontal options he may like, I have a nice piece that's a crescent shape and placed it horizontally and got good real estate from it and created a swimthrough and hiding spot for the fish.
Oh man just the thought of rehoming those gives me anxiety.. Good luck bruv
