Hi there first time posting on here looking for some info.
I am bored with my aquascape and am going to change it , I have old rock from a previous tank breakdown that has been dry for months which I plan to use.

My question to the forum is , once I have cycled the old rock and water is testing 0 for ammonia ,nitrite ,nitrate and phosphate it should be tank safe right ? Also can i put all fish straight back in or will this cause a cycle and kill everything ?

Current setup

275l cube
20l sump

this really depends on a few factors. how much live rock do you currently have and how much dry rock do you want to add? is the tank currently cycled and established? the old rock will for sure have dead life in it that could cause a cycle - how big of a cycle would be determined by my previous questions. can you provide more info?

if you want to kill everything in the old rock (which is what i prefer to do) then follow these instructions.

If your params are fine once you have cycled your rock you can add it , seed it with a sponge from your existing tank , you might get a slight mini cycle , but you will be safe too add your fish again .
