I seen somewhere that someone rewired their light so there's only one cord...i can take it apart and figure out how to do it no problem but i guess my question is...is it safe.? it seems like it would be cheaper for them to make em that way.
i have the 61" 4x80w bulb fixture.
I found a 9' cord on mcmaster carr. here's the ratings
9' long...14 guage wire...15 amps...120v ac

Shouldn't have any issue with it but a picture would be more helpful. I've never understood the dual cord design as it really does limit the user on set up options.

yea and the dumbest part of the design is the cords come out opposite sides of the fixture and are way to short imo. the light is a good concept but not very well thought out.

awesome thanks dude...thats pretty much spot on what i had in mind
Just go to home depot and get a 8 ft 16/3 J chord, they will cut it to size and just add a plug and you are good to go.

im gonna look a little deeper into it....i think since I'm doubling the lights upon 1 cord i should use 14g wire instead of 16.
