Has anyone had problems when you have set up a red sea reefer250g2 or a similar model? I'm getting it level, but I'm not sure if things are exactly as they should be. if I take hold of the aquarium and rock it back and forth (not at the i.e. the long end) I feel that it is a little loose, not rocking back and forth on the legs but a little slack in a way. also see some ripples in the water when I stomp close to the aquarium, i just have a little water in, so not sure if it has something to do with too little weight. someone else in here recommended removing the felt knots I've put under the legs (the manual DOS not say to have it, i made it up my self) the aquarium is 100% level as I see it with a regular level. Thinking about removing the furniture knops under the legs in case it is the issue. Any sugestions, is it normalt, somthing wrong with the aquarium or floor? The house is from 2010, floating floor, but a realy hard laminat floor.

Yeah, remove the furniture pads and go with the levelling feet straight on the floor. On my 750 I had to level it before placing the bottom plate and sump - as some of the feet are underneath the cabinet and no real way to access them otherwise.

thanks for your reply I noticed the same thing, so it's fine not to have the bottom plate and the sump installed while watering the aquarium? can you slightly adjust the legs with water in the aquarium, or is it risky (minor adjustments) if it is no longer level when you have, for example, filled 2/3

I agree with blaxsun as to removing the furniture pads and leveling. I recently set up a 300 and left the bottom panel and sump out while leveling so I had access to all of the feet. Once level I filled with water but below the overflow for obvious reasons and let it sit overnight and rechecked but it was still level. Also make sure all the cam locks holding the stand together are nice and tight to prevent movement of stand itself. As to ripples when you stomp next to the tank I don't think I would be concerned about that. All of my tanks will do the same. My 180g moves a little when my dogs run past it and it is on a 2x4 framed stand with all joints screwed and glued.
On a side note it looks to be tucked pretty close to the wall (could an illusion). If it is you may want to leave enough room to get behind to run wires. I left 4 inches which is enough to get my arm back there and leaves room to get a vacuum cleaner tube behind it as well.

thanks for the answer, there is some space but no more than 4cm, or around 1.7 inches. I will increase it :)

I guess am not that smart...Can someone tell me how you interpret this drawing? first I thought, screw down and level all the legs, then screw the top nut all the way up to lock things in place. But then I see it says x6 and 6 legs are marked with a circle, level up the aquarium with 6 legs, also screw down the others and fasten?

The instructions are misleading. The short version is that there are ten (10) levelling legs in total.

1. Remove the sump and the bottom panel(s) so you have full access to all the legs.
2. Screw down the legs (after removing any pads underneath) and level the tank. This means bith the leg and the top, nut.
3. Tweak as needed until the tank is perfectly level on all sides (front to back, side to side).
4. Twist the top nut on all ten (10) legs until they are snug against the underside.
5. Re-verify level and adjust if need be.
6. Add the bottom plates and sump.

Hi There Just seen the original question. My reefer 250 is now full of water but when I clean the glass yes it does move a little. Seems to me as if the tank and cabinet are tall a nd so top heavy. Even so that weight is not going far so make sure everything is tight when you assemble the cabinet and once level the water should do the rest. P. S. My DIY cabinet lasted 20 years. Will these expensive cabinets last that long?!
