Planning to run two reactors on my setup. One for nitrate and the other for phosphate. Can connect the two reactors in series?

It goes like this: pump -->reactor 1 inlet --> reactor 1 outlet --> reactor 2 inlet --reactor 2 outlet --> back to sump

Reactor 1 for phosphate and reactor 2 for nitrate.

Pls advice

Id run the first reactor for nitrate due to certain gfos don't require a lot of flow conpared to say like bio balls

If you're running GFO, I'd run that in the first reactor so that you can get the tumble just right. To the best of my knowledge, all other media can run at a lower flow rate and specifically doesn't need to be tumbled. The dual reactor from BRS has the GFO first.

That is a good point. But at the same time you could add a ball valve between each and control both flows. I use phosban so if i put it to high and tumbles a lot then it gets crushed. Yeah you could set the flow in the first chamber but it might not be enough to get a good reason it of the second chamber i would think

if you are planning on running it in a similar fashion as the dual brs media reactor then I would go with gfo first and then carbon in the second. If you have the ability to run them separately that is what i would recommend, less likeliness of clogging and it will allow you to run the proper flow for both types of media.
