Im making a DIY Algae Reactor. What is the best lighting color to use? I've seen other brand name reactors use white. And have seen scrubbers with red. Not sure what type of algae but I will probably start with Chaeto.
Plants generally prefer more red (5k-6k). You can soften that up a bit with some yellow. Some people go all out red, I kind of think that this is counter productive though. Results may vary.
